This page is dedicated to myths about Aspergers Syndrome, Which aren't often true. Stereotypes on Autistic people aren't always bad, but after years partaking in communities of people with aspergers, I have discovered that people with Aspergers are just as diverse as people without.
Not all things are separated into Aspergers and NT. Some things are just traits of people - Love, anger, kindness, nastiness and greed for example. If you've met one Aspie, you've met..... one Aspie. This information has been gathered by me from people with aspergers, or loved ones.

AS and classical autism are entirely the same.

Autism is always stable throughout life.

That people with aspergers cannot change.
That aspergers is somehow easier for girls than guys. It is different, but has it's own set of challenges.
That people with aspergers should know better. If you are not shown or taught at some point, how are you
supposed to figure it out if it lacks rhyme or reason.

It is a strictly male condition.

in general or other specific types of ASD) is NO SPEECH DELAY, Einstein could not have had AS
(Asperger Syndrome). There is simply no way. By eyewitness, written family accounts, Einstein spoke
for the first time uponseeing his newborn sister (and no, he did not say "you burned the toast" or
"the soup was never cold before"--that's another myth I won't go into).
Since he was just over 2.5 years old at the time, he was in fact speech delayed...
and therefore, not an Aspie; period, the end.
This myth drives me CRAZY because it's largely based on people thinking "typical"
(if there is such a thing) ASD people largely have intellectual delay, while Aspies "are geniuses".
Also untrue--one criterion for AS is simply no intellectual delay,
not that he or she must be above average intelligence.
The majority of Aspies are not geniuses.

Aspergers will never have meaningful romantic relationships.
Aspergers Syndrome is a psychiatric disorder, and that means we are crazy, and that also
means we are dangerous and psychotic 
Aspergers are total egoists who don't care about other people and their feelings.
