	AS and classical autism are entirely different. AS and classical autism are entirely the same. Autism is mental retardation. When autistic people speak, their autism is only extremely mild and they might not have it. Alternatively: If autistic people speak, their shrink has just misdiagnosed them as having a form of autism. No autistic person can go to school and be in normal ed. Sora

	It is a strictly male condition. Obsessions are only trains, dinosaurs, computers, math and pokemon. All Asperger's people want a girlfriend/boyfriend but can't get one! They are all treckies. They don't like to read fiction. They can't make eye contact. They can't hold down a job. PunkyKat

	MYTH: Einstein had AS. Since one major criterion for AS (v. ASD, autism spectrum disorder, in general or other specific types of ASD) is NO SPEECH DELAY, Einstein could not have had AS (Asperger Syndrome). There is simply no way. By eyewitness, written family accounts, Einstein spoke for the first time uponseeing his newborn sister (and no, he did not say "you burned the toast" or "the soup was never cold before"--that's another myth I won't go into). Since he was just over 2.5 years old at the time, he was in fact speech delayed... and therefore, not an Aspie; period, the end. This myth drives me CRAZY because it's largely based on people thinking "typical" (if there is such a thing) ASD people largely have intellectual delay, while Aspies "are geniuses". Also untrue--one criterion for AS is simply no intellectual delay, not that he or she must be above average intelligence. The majority of Aspies are not geniuses. Thanks for reading, Melanie Henson
