How do you do it and still keep your sanity? I can't even handle a fraction of that time at school. I'd be in a state of perpetual meltdown if I tried working 40 hours a week. How do manage?

I don't. I tend to get very run down and my home life turns into chaos. I have such an untidy room, no food, washing that needs to be done, etc. It's very stressful. I wish I did not have to work 40 hours.

I think it depends on what you are doing and whether you enjoy it or not. I've had jobs that I hated.

One that stands out was working nights for a year running a bar in a hotel when I was much younger, which was not only highly social, but full of very drunk and often incredibly aggressive people pretty much every night. In fact most nights I would end up having to throw people out due to fights and I was attacked more than a few times.  They were often people who had been drinking at weddings all day and decided to carry on all night. It wasn't pleasent, but I coped and managed to handle it, but it really took its toll health wise, but it was financially necessary at the time.

These days I sometimes work 70 hours in a week, but I love what I do so it doesn't make any difference at all. I'm as happy working as I am sat at home doing my own thing.
