But even just a "light chat" (whatever that is???) can help see things aren't as bad as your mind would make you think!
Agreed. Talking to people (especially about something BESIDES my issues) helps me get my mind off of it, and neutralize it.

Yep. Exercise releases endorphins, so technically, it IS supposed to make you happier!

And yeah, accomplishing things and doing projects that I really like helps cheer me up. For instance, right now, I am working on a complex pointillism drawing - I enjoy doing it, but I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Also, a really good show. Something funny can make you laugh, and a really good drama can suck you in and hold your attention so that you forget you're depressed. For a while, anyway.
Dramas tend to make me MORE depressed and broody, but comedies definitely bring me out of a funk! It's hard to be depressed when you're watching something hilarious. I personally like 'Family Guy', 'Robot Chicken', 'The Simpsons', and 'Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series' (a parody of 'Yu-Gi-OH'). Oh, and I like the funnier episodes of 'House'.
I almost hate to say this, but antidepressants are also incredibly helpful with managing my depression (I've had chronic mild depression for most of my life). I think they should be used as a last resort, but if nothing else is working, DEFINITELY keep them in mind, because they really CAN make you happier!
