Do you have any obsessions with like a certain subject? Tony Atwood says most female Aspie dont have an obsession. I have a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus obsession, I have to buy everything that has to do with her and I know a lot about her.

Tony Atwood is very VERY wrong.

Yes, I do.

I am obsessed with aspergers awareness and internet business, I'm also obsessed with The legend of zelda.

I used to be obsessed with cats.

@jman: My dad is obsessed with maps too.

I had a map obsession for years too. Legend of Zelda is awesome. I definitely have a obsession about finding out as much as I can about autism as possible. I want to understand it completely in all it's complexity.

my obsession with road maps actually lead to a bit of an obsession with the weather. What started was the fact that The Weather Channel used road maps on their radar screens. I still am a bit obsessed with the weather. I wanna chase tornadoes one day.

I have been obsessed with the weather from the age I could read. As a kid I had a massie poster of all the cloud types on my wall from the national georaphic. I'm also so obsessed with tornados they plague my dreams every third night.

Scared s***less of them. If I ever move to the US it's going to be somewhere without them.

I'm obsessed with social survival, mainly.  I'm also obsessed with a few computer things that would annoy people if I went into any more detail.  By the way, Legend of Zelda ftw!

The earliest obsession I had was with Legos; then at about the age of 8, I got into anthropology - specifically how ape evolved into man; then at around 9, I was deeply obsessed with weather - even to the point of having my own small Heath Kit weather station, and having a chart of the type of clouds.  Around 10-12, I got into cats and the different breeds of cats (I am still obsessed with them); of course, music was always part of my life and a re-occurring obsession; then math from the ages of 16-26.  Now, it's progressive rock/metal (I still love other forms of music though), and some math; I terribly suck at math though; I'm only fascinated with the concepts and the different models of reality that mathematics can convey...I love paradoxes too.

I have two kinds of obsessions.  Short and long term.

Short term obsessions last about two or three weekys and usually relate to me learning everything I can on a subject that I have no practical use for.  My prime example is "open-pit strip mining". I spent two weeks researching everything I could on the subject to the point that I could pass for a quasi-expert.

My long term obsessions are fairly set.  I love travel....and planning.  I plan a couple hundred vacations per year that I never take.  Every so often I do take one though. Last year I splurged on trips to London and Munich for Oktoberfest.

My other main obsession is lists.  I keep lists for everything.  I got an iPad just so I would have something better than my phone to organize my lists.  An example:  I am nowhere near to getting married...I have a relationship that could maybe be defined as a "kinda-girlfriend", but for several years now I have kept an active list on who I would and would not invite to a possible wedding.

Yeah, I am a weird one.

Oh, and I am 31 and still love Legos....   :- Roll Eyes

As far as I know aspie girls still have obsessions but there generally not as way out there as us blokes are and they usually a little more normal then ours.  But as I have not gotten to met any aspie girls since the age of twelve or in person other then via this internet I do not what aspie girls are usually like.  they think aspie girls are un diagnosed because you guys are able to mimic better then what we do.  I hope I can get to know some aspie girls in person in the future.  I guess I do have a bit of an obsession about the differences and the similarities between the two sexes.

I'm almost 35 and am obsessed with several celebrity guys.  Not like stalker, obsessed, but just constantly looking at pics and finding out everything that I can about them via internet.

I sometimes do that too, but will all celebrities, not just male ones.  Grin
